Authorities in New Mexico have revealed the details behind the death of adult actress Sophia Leone, putting an end to rumors and internet speculation.
The Albuquerque PD state that the adult star was found dead in her home on March 1st of this year.
Initially ruling the death as suspicious, APD began an investigation into the 26-year-old’s demise— investigating from the angles of robbery and homicide, respectively.
Despite any signs of visible trauma, authorities began working with the medical examiner to determine the cause of death.
Authorities believe that Leone perished from an accidental overdose, but did not reveal the nature of the substances she ingested.
According to TMZ, Leone was employed by studios like Brazzers, Reality Kings and Evil Angel.
Leone was born in Miami in 1997 and appeared in over 150 titles after beging her career shortly after turning 18.
Despite having an estimated net worth of more than $1 million, a GoFundMe page was set up for her “memorial fund.”
“I am reaching out to all of Sophia’s supporters and the community during this incredibly difficult time. Sophia without question deserves the absolute best memorial and you can help us,” her step-father wrote on the page.
“Any donation no matter the amount will go straight towards the costs associated with the investigation, Funeral Expense’s, and any other costs that may arise as the family works through this heartbreak.”
More than $14,000 has already been donated.
Other adult content creators have been struck by tragedy related to drugs recently.
An adult film actress known for her long list of performances since the early 2000s reportedly died by suicide this year.
Kagney Linn Karter, who was born in March of 1987, is reported to have taken her own life with a shotgun on February 15.
A week prior, 25-year-old Emily Willis reportedly overdosed while at a rehab center and was transported to a local hospital.
