A 30-year-old teacher in Australia is in serious trouble after it was discovered she had unprotected sex with a 17-year-old boy.
Tayla Brailey, who is a married woman, was arrested at Lurnea High last Thursday.
The Sydney-area school teacher reportedly seemed more concerned with the consequences of her actions rather than remorse for the actions themselves.
“I am going to jail, aren’t I?” she reportedly said before going into hysterics. “I’m going to lose my family, my husband, my job.”
In their report, police claim they have evidence Brailey not only sent explicit videos to the teen, but also bought a morning-after pill after having sex with him in the back of a car.
“The accused sent a number of photographs and videos of herself both naked and while she was masturbating herself,” the police report read. “The victim also returned a number of photographs and videos of himself.”
Additionally, she also allowed him into her home. It is unknown if her husband was present at the time.
The tryst began in July, and ended shortly after the sexual encounter, though the teen claimed he felt pressured to send his teacher explicit photos in order to keep her happy.
Interestingly enough, Brailey’s marriage had only begun in 2023, and her husband appeared to support her in court despite being betrayed.
According to the New York Post, Brailey has been charged with sexual intercourse with a child under her authority, sexually touching a child under her authority, and aggravated sexual assault of a child under her authority.
She has been ordered to cease contact with her victim, turn in her passport and stay off of social media.
Her employers have confirmed that she has been suspended without pay.
