In the aftermath of the Donald Trump assassination attempt, bizarre claims are popping up from every side of the political aisle— including the belief that a prominent FBI agent was present.
Janeen Diguiseppi, who Janeen was made the assistant director of the Insider Threat Office at FBI Headquarters in 2023, is being singled out by netizens as the mysterious “woman in shades” who seemed rather calm as chaos struck last weekend.
Prior to the ITO assignment, Ms. DiGuiseppi was the special agent in charge of the Albany Field Office in New York.
According to the FBI website, DiGuiseppi “joined the FBI as a special agent in 1999 and was first assigned to the Salt Lake City Field Office, where she worked violent crime, drug, and public corruption violations.”
Independent investigative reporter Dom Lucre claimed that the mystery woman sitting behind former President Trump during his assassination attempt was DiGuiseppi.
“The woman in this video behind Donald Trump, where many viewers accused her of ‘giving the shooter instructions’ has allegedly been identified as FBI assistant director Janeen Diguiseppi, this is still a developing story,” he wrote on X/Twitter. “I will post an update when one arrives.”
While Lucre hopes he is wrong, he’s not ruling anything out.
“This is one of the few times I hope to God my report is 100% wrong but it doesn’t look like it. At the same time, it wouldn’t mean that she was aiding,” he tweeted. Trump is a VIP so I wouldn’t think it’s strange that multiple government higher up’s go to his rallies and events.”

The shooting has given rise to many theories, including the left-wing conspiracy that the entire event was faked and/or set up to boost Trump’s popularity.
On the more legitimate side of the conversation, both authorities and the public are questioning how the US Secret Service and law enforcement agencies in Pennsylvania managed to allow an untrained gunman to not only reconnoiter the area, but set up a sniper position as well.
